Work & Life Balance
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
At Embry-Riddle, we know that happy, fulfilled faculty and staff make the best employees. Rather than simply saying how much we appreciate our employees, we prefer to show it by offering a multitude of benefits and events which we feel do just that.
We want our faculty and staff to feel encouraged to continue their education. In order to help encourage this continued education, employees who wish to pursue a degree with Embry-Riddle at one of our residential campuses, may be permitted up to 3 hours of release time from work each week.
Possibly one of the most anticipated benefits our faculty and staff enjoy is summer schedule. During the summer months employees enjoy an abbreviated workweek with Fridays off. Perhaps just as eagerly anticipated is our holiday break when our campuses close during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day so we can all spend some quality time with family. In addition to both of these highly anticipated opportunities for rest and relaxation, our holiday schedule and personal leave program is very generous.
Our residential campuses offer many onsite conveniences such as food courts, fitness facilities with instructor lead classes and personal training available, intramural sports, post offices, dry cleaning valet, and a convenient health clinic where employees and their families can be seen for acute illnesses. Having these onsite conveniences makes it easy to take care of errands while still having time to enjoy a lunch break.
Embry-Riddle hosts and sponsors many on and off-campus family friendly events which our employees can participate in at no cost and in many cases during working hours. Some of these events include bring your child to work day, children’s holiday party, faculty/staff holiday party, service awards banquet, homecoming parade and festivities, air shows, summer camps and much more.
